Director Chris Boyle is the co-founder of PRIVATE ISLAND, a studio paradise that delivers disruptive animation and live-action content. PI was founded in 2015 with EP Helen Power as a home to facilitate multi-discipline unconventional commercial and narrative work.
After 10+ years of a director-producer partnership working on commercials, music promos, and gaming cinematics for production companies across London, Helen and Chris set up their very own shop in east London. Contemplating this new endeavour from a London winter that takes no prisoners, a faraway virgin island paradise seemed to be a very nice setting on which to build.
Chris Boyle has directed commercials for numerous brands (NIKE, VISA, F1, UBER, VODAFONE) and video games (CALL OF DUTY, THE DIVISION, POKEMON) and is a TED Educator. With work featuring on Adult Swim, Stash, Little White Lies, Creative Review, Vimeo Staff Picks and Motionographer and selected for One Dot Zero and The Sundance Film Festival. Awards include four nominations and one win at the MVA’s and a Guinness World Record.
Currently, he is working on an adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft’s, ‘DAGON’ alongside various commercial shenanigans.
Helen Power has worked across the gamut of production in London, from commercials, branded content, gaming, and promos to live Multicam shows.
Before founding PI, Helen freelanced at London’s top production companies, including Pulse, Stink, and Caviar with a range of A-list talent, (THOM YORK, NICK CAVE) and sporting big hitters ( USAIN BOLT, MO FARRAH, 1ST TEAM PLAYERS FROM MADRID FC, MAN UNITED, BARCELONA, BAYERN ) for some of the world’s biggest brands (LEXUS, NIKE, SAMSUNG, ADIDAS ) shooting all across the globe ( JAPAN, MALAYSIA, PARIS, BARCELONA, MADRID, NYC, HONG KONG ).
